The most blatantly obvious effect that man has had on nature is the killing of animals on roads. 

Roadkill is a symbol of our treatment of the natural world: as an afterthought or as no thought at all. 

Inside vehicles, drivers are isolated from the impact of most collisions ... it is only when a driver actually stops, gets up close, and looks that they witness the true insensitivity of humans.
